Yep that's been me lately - Forgetful. On Tuesday, I forgot to pack my bra in my workout bag. So after a sweaty cardio session I had to wear my workout bra the whole day. Wednesday, I forgot my weight lifting gloves. I can't remember if I forgot anything yesterday and this morning. I forgot my weight lifting gloves and my lunch. I'm still trying to figure out how I forgot my lunch. My lunch box was sitting on the diningroom table next to my purse.
Well that was just an expensive phone call. My son has been out of a job for a little while now. He's having issues with collecting unemployment. First, he was getting the run around from the state of Wisconsin and Illinois as to where he should file his claim through. He worked in both states during the time frame. Once they finally got that settled, it was determined that they need to contact his previous employer about whether or not they will pay his claim. He was let go because of performance issues. So now he is in a state of limbo. He moved in with my brother because he was too proud/stubborn to move back home. Being the nice mother that I am I have offered to help him pay for his car insurance. So he just informed me that he is going to have to take me up on his offer. This is going to cost me $85 a month until he either gets a new job or his unemployment gets approved. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I only have to pay for one month.
They just announced today that they are closing the Chrysler plant in my hometown of Kenosha. The plant only builds engines now. I know that the media and mayor are going to act like it is doomsday for the town. Most of the people that work there are probably old enough to retire. On that thought, I am wondering how that is going to effect my son finding a job.
I am still working on my Pomatomus socks. I am on the foot now of the second sock. So I guess you can say that I am on the homestretch. I am starting to worry that I may not have enough yarn to finish the second sock. I have a couple of skeins of yarn in my cart at The Loopy Ewe that I am waiting to purchase. I am going to hold off before placing the order. It would be my luck that I would place the order find out that I need that skein and then have to pay 5.95 shipping on yarn that costs 6.75. So my goal for the weekend is to get my second sock completed. When I get to this point in a project, I always think I will happy when I am finished.
I am still trying to figure out what I am going to knit next. I got the yarn from The Loopy Ewe for my Loopy Swap 4 pal Erin. Now, I just need to find the perfect pattern. My thoughts are that since I learned how to cast on for a toe-up sock that it needs to be toe-up and of course I am thinking of one of Wendy's designs from WendyKnits.net. And I am also going to try to knit on 2 circular needles so of course that narrows it down to SOCKS! but which pattern? I was considering the pattern that we got in our Spring Fling goodie bag. Might be kind of cool to be the first one to complete it on Ravelry that's if one of the other Flingers didn't beat me to it.
I've discovered Plurk. It is addicting and a lot of fun. I am chatting with a lot of the girls that I met during Spring Fling. If you don't know what it is, you certainly are missing out on the fun.
