Yesterday, I had a visit to the dentist. It took the hygenist an hour to clean my teeth. I have to go back in a couple of weeks. They are going to fix one of my fillings to try to close the food trap that I have in my mouth. I have a bridge that keeps trapping food so they are going to try to close the gap so that way it won't be as bad.
Last week, was the eye doctors. I hadn't been there in over two years, and well I am running low on my contacts. I knew that my vision changed. I am having a hard time focusing after I am doing close-up stuff (like knitting) when I look back up. The doctor told me that I have three options. Option 1 - get readers. Option 2 - mono vision. One contact for distance and the other for close-up. Option 3- Bi-focal contact lenses. I chose Option 1. So this past weekend, I bought two pairs of readers, one for home and one for work. I still have to go back to the eye docs for a follow-up to order my contacts. He wants to see how they fit on my eyes.
I am in my 7th week of Body for Life. I have lost a total of 4.2 pounds. I need to take my measurements and see how I am doing overall.
This was also my 7th week of the couch to 5k running plan. More like jogging on my part. This morning, I had been dreading my workout. The plan, warm-up for 5 minutes, jog of 25 minutes and then a cool down for 5 minutes. I warm up and cool down at a speed of 2.5 on the treadmill. I jog at a slow speed of 3.5 on the treadmill. I am going slow more for endurance than I am distance. I figure that once I get comfortable with the time then I will start increasing the speed. Today, was the first time that I can remember that I jogged for 25 minutes straight. I had to put a towel over the time so I wouldn't clock watch. I am very pleased with my jogging progress so far.
Memorial Day of course is this weekend. It is going to be quiet around the house. My daughter is going camping with her girlfriends and hubby well he is going to the races. I am looking forward to a nice quiet weekend. I am thinking a visit to the video store and some quality knitting time are going to be on the agenda.
My son is making plans for June to go back to Pennsylvania to visit my husband's side of the family. We've somehow convinced him that he should take his sister with him. That'll be a nice quiet week. Hmm, I almost convinced hubby to tag along also. He suggested that we let the kids go by themselves and have fun. Should be interesting.
As for my current project, I am still knitting away on Kai-mei. I have one sock finished and casted on the second sock during lunch today. This is a very fast knit and a fun project. I am hoping to have these socks completed by the weekend so that I may gather the rest of the goodies for my swap partner and get the package out to her.
I also managed to knit a wee sock. I casted off the first sock of Kai-mei and knitted this sock in about an hours time. I am going to attempt to get some photos taken tonight and posted. So stay tuned.
